NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.  PRIZE DRAW ("Promotion") IS OPEN TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF CANADA (EXCLUDING QUEBEC) ONLY.

Participation constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules.

Promotion is open only to persons that have reached the age of majority at the time of entry in this contest and who are legal residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) only.  Employees, directors and officers of Big Brother Productions and their agents and affiliates and anyone with whom such persons are domiciled are not eligible to enter.

Void where prohibited. All federal, provincial and local laws and regulations apply.

Entries must be received by Sunday, 1 February 2009 at 5:00 pm (Pacific). 

Only one entry per person, per email address, is permitted for the duration of the Promotion.  Duplicate entries and entries that are not complete will be discarded.

A total of one grand prize is available to be won.  The grand prize consists of two one-year subscriptions chosen from the following magazines:

  • Chatelaine
  • Canadian Geographic
  • Canadian Musician
  • Maclean's
  • National Geographic Kids
  • Parents
  • Redbook
  • Golf Digest
  • Men's Journal

The grand prize winner may designate anyone in Canada as the recipient of the magazine subscriptions including themselves.  The winning magazine subscriptions will be delivered to Canadian addresses only.

The prize has no cash value and must be accepted as awarded.  Approximate retail value of the prize varies depending on the magazine subscriptions chosen.

The winner will be determined by a random draw on or about 1 February 2009 and will include all entries received up to and including the draw date.  The first entry drawn that has completed the entry form in its entirety and correctly answered the skill testing question will be the winner.

The winner will have 72 hours (3 days) to respond from the first day of being notified by email.  Should the winner not respond within the 72 hours (3 days) a new winner will be chosen and we will continue to draw names every 72 hours (3 days) until such time as a winner responds.  Email shall be the only method of communication between the winner and the Sponsors for all entries received by email. 

Should the winning entry be chosen from among any mail-in entries the winner will be notified by telephone at the telephone number listed on the entry.  Should we be unable to contact the winner by telephone within 72 hours (3 days) a new winner will be chosen and we will continue to draw names every 72 hours (3 days) until such time as a winner responds or is contacted.

The publishers of the magazines featured in this contest are in no way associated nor have they endorsed this contest.

The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible correct entries received for the Promotion.

The Sponsors of this Promotion are not responsible for and shall not be liable for late, lost, misdirected, or unsuccessful efforts to notify the winner as per the rules of this Promotion. 

By entering this Promotion, winner agrees to the publication and use of his/her name and city/province/state of residence for publicity purposes without additional compensation.  The winner may, at Sponsor's option, be required to sign and return a declaration of eligibility, release of liability, and, where lawful, a publicity consent agreement.

In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail account.

All decisions of the Promotion judges are final and entries become the property of the Sponsors and will not be returned.

Void where prohibited.  By entering you agree to be bound by the rules of this Promotion.

By entering, each participant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsors, which shall be final. Sponsors, agents and representatives of the Sponsors, its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, Promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (ii) failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions; (iii) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsors that may cause the Promotion to be disrupted or corrupted; (iv) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of the prize, or acceptance, possession, or use of the prize, or from participation in the Promotion; or (v) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Promotion.

Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to suspend or terminate the Promotion at any time and to award the Promotion prizes to individuals selected at random from the pool of entrants received up to the point of termination, if a computer virus, bug, tampering, unauthorized intervention, or other technical problem of any sort corrupts the administration, security, or proper play of the Promotion. The Sponsors also reserve the right to disqualify, in its sole discretion, any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the survey website, or who is otherwise in violation of the rules.

The Sponsors reserve the right to substitute any prize with a prize of equal or greater value in the event the prizes described above are not available for delivery to Canada at the completion of the contest.

By participating in the Promotion, each participant agrees to release and hold the Sponsors and the employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, representatives of Sponsors, its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, Promotion, and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with the Promotion or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including without limitation, personal injury, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.

To enter by mail, send a postcard with your name, full mailing address and telephone number (including area code) plus the answer to the skill-testing question to the following address.

All mail-in entries must be received no later than the date specified for online entry above.  By entering by mail you are also confirming you have read and will be bound by the rules specified above.  

Big Brother Productions and the various Sponsors will not be responsible for entries which are incomplete, illegible, mutilated, misdirected, delayed, late, lost or otherwise undeliverable either by electronic entry or by mail-in entry.
